It was sad to hear that Stan had passed away so suddenly.I first meet Stan 1959 when visiting Alma for the first time.
As the years went by I had the pleasure of meeting Stan, not only when he was with Alma on the many
of their tours around the country, but also at his home. The last time being early in 2008.
Stan was a wonderful man, who always took the time out to attend Alma's conventions after her death.
He would help by giving talks about his time with Alma, sharing his memorabilia and and always supporting
the Alma Fan clubs throughout the years.
Stan will not only be missed by his lovely family, also friends and of course the Alma Fans.
I would like to thank Carole and family for making us all welcome at Stan's funeral.
An Era has certainly gone with the passing of dear Stan a truly wonderful GENTLE- MAN. R.I.P

Dearest Alma Fans, and may I say probably, "Stan's Fans" also. Julie, Lisa and I are deeply moved by all the many cards, letters and emails that we have received following Stan's untimely death. I would very much like to keep in touch with all of you. I hope that through Eddie and his wonderful website we can do that. I promise that if I find any more memorabilia of Alma that has laid in our dusty attic in boxes for many years that you will be the first to know.

Stan would have been so very touched to know that so many people care. I hope that through you and your faith in the public that the music that Alma and Stan created together will go on for many years to come.

Please keep in touch. Many thanks again.

    Carole

I was so sad to hear of the death of Stan. His kindness to Alma's fans through the years was justly famous and in recent years his willingness to share his private collection of recordings and film had given much pleasure to all admirers of the Cogan/Foster partnership.

I first met Stan at the Alma Convention in 1986 when we shared a table during a tea break and had a very enjoyable conversation about his time working with Alma.I'll never forget how friendly and chatty he was to me that day. I told him then that I never tired of listening to his musical arrangements for Alma and twenty three years later that statement is still true! Somehow I could always identify a 'Stan' arrangement!

Sadly, I feel that with Stan's death, we have reached the end of an era. While Stan was alive we fans still had a direct connection to the world of Alma. That connection has now been severed.

    RIP Stan.

I first meet Stan at a convention held for Alma sometime after she had passed away. I remeber Stan giving a long talk about his time with Alma.I had just bought the Alma German LP, and asked Stan if he had done the arrangements, he said he had,I told him I loved the sound he had created.Although Stan must have been very tired after his long talk to the Alma fans that day, he still had the time to talk to me. Stan was a lovely man, so warm and comforting to all Alma's fans. Stan will be missed by us all.
